Blue Florilegium is an ongoing series of cyanotype photographs on glass, drawing on the historical tradition of the botanical florilegium. Each image begins as a large-format photograph, developed as a 4x5 negative and contact-printed onto glass coated in cyanotype emulsion. The process gives the work a translucency unavailable to paper, letting light pass through rather than reflecting off it. New plates are added in chapters as blooms come into season, and the series is as much a study of fragility and light as it is of the cyanotype's deep, atmospheric blue.
